Hey there all you loyal fans of Chichiri's story!! I finally typed up some more of New Snow! Ya-ta!! Sorry it took so long! I had it typed up last weekend, but my computer died before I could post it! Gomen! Well, I would like to point out that this chapter is called First Snow, not New Snow. It begins to explain why I chose the strange title that I did, but you'll have to wait some more for the whole explanation. Guess what? This chapter is really sweet and happy and nothing bad happens! Isn't that great? So now, on with the story! Ya-ta!! (And I don't own Sailor Moon... you know who does, so please don't sue this pathetic little author who isn't hurting anyone!) New Snow by Chichiri Chapter 4- First Snow The next morning, Usagi awoke early. She yawned and looked sleepily out the window. A smile spread across her face as she saw the blanket of snow covering the ground. "Good morning, Serena," Ami yawned as she sat up. "Ami-chan! Look! It's the first snow of winter!" Usagi said delighted. "Oh! How beautiful!" Ami said, coming over to the window and looking at the snow. "I love the wintertime!" Usagi beamed. "The way the world sleeps so peacefully! I love it!" "Serena, I have to go to a computer class now, but I'll be back later," Ami said that afternoon. "Darien is going to stay here, so you won't be alone." "All right, Ami-chan," Usagi said. "But it's Saturday. Don't you ever have a day without classes?" "Nope," Ami replied. "Not unless the teacher is sick. But I love going to school, so it's not a problem for me. I'll see you later, Serena!" "Bye, Ami-chan," Usagi said. After Ami had left, Usagi got up and got dressed in her winter clothes. Then she walked slowly into the living room. Her wounds had mostly healed, but she still hurt and her left arm was still in pretty bad shape. "Where do you think you're going, Serena?" Mamoru demanded. "I want to go walk in the snow," Usagi replied. "Please let me go. I'm feeling all right." "I'm coming with you," Mamoru said firmly. "All right," Usagi agreed. ËMy Mamo-chan is going for a walk with me in the snow!' Usagi thought happily. ËEverything is going to be happy this afternoon!' Usagi walked with her right arm linked through Mamoru's left arm. They walked in silence to a small park down the street from Mamoru's apartment. When they reached the park, snow began to fall from the gray skies. "Don't you love the snow?" Usagi asked. "Yeah," Mamoru agreed. "So, why do you like the snow?" Usagi asked. "I don't know," Mamoru replied. "The snow makes me feel happy. It reminds me of something very happy, but I don't remember what. How about you, Meatball Head? Why do you like the snow?" "Lots of reasons!" Usagi exclaimed. Then she thought to herself, ËBut one in particular.' ~Flashback to the Moon Kingdom~ Princess Serenity twirled around in the new snow that fell softly over the ground. She stopped, feeling dizzy, and fell into Prince Endymion's arms. She laughed happily when she looked into his stormy midnight blue eyes. "Don't you love the new snow?" Princess Serenity asked. "Yes," Prince Endymion replied. "It's as soft and white as angel feathers!" Princess Serenity exclaimed. "It's so beautiful! And the snow covers the sleeping flowers until they awaken in spring! Why do you like the snow, Mamo-chan?" "I like the snow because it reminds me of you," Prince Endymion answered. "It's gentle and soft and beautiful, just like my Usa-chan. And it's pure and white and innocent." Princess Serenity's ocean blue eyes sparkled happily and a beautiful smile crossed her lips. Prince Endymion laughed at her delighted reaction. Then, he leaned forward and kissed her gently on the lips. The snow swirled around them as though pulling them closer together. ~End of Flashback~ ËOh, how I wish Mamo-chan remembered our love!' Usagi thought. ËBut he does remember a little bit, even if he doesn't realize it. In time, he will remember. Be patient, Usagi!' "Hey, Meatball Head, are you feeling all right?" Mamoru asked. "I feel better than ever!" Usagi smiled. "Are you sure?" Mamoru asked, his stormy eyes filled with concern. "You're kind of spacing out. Maybe we should go back." "No, I feel fine," Usagi protested. "See?" Usagi twirled around in the snow, laughing. Feeling dizzy, she fell to the ground and made a snow angel. "You shouldn't be moving around so much, Usa-chan," Mamoru scolded, but he couldn't help smiling at her happiness. "What did you call me?" Usagi asked, wondering if she had heard right. "Serena. That's your name isn't it?" Mamoru asked. "No, you just called me Usa-chan," Usagi said, sitting up. "I did? That's strange, isn't it?" Mamoru said puzzled. ËNo, it's not strange at all, Mamo-chan,' Usagi thought. ËHe's remembering more. I knew this would be a happy afternoon!' "Come on, Serena," Mamoru said, offering her his hand. "You'll open the stitches in your arm." They walked back to Mamoru's apartment in thoughtful silence. ËI've been feeling really empty inside, lately, like a part of me is missing,' Mamoru thought. ËBut when I'm with Serena, I feel whole and happy. I feel like I should remember something about her.' ËMamo-chan is beginning to remember more!' Usagi thought happily. ËHe called me Usa-chan, just like he used to.' "Serena?" Mamoru asked when they had gone back into his apartment. "What's wrong? Why are you sad?" "What do you mean?" Usagi asked confused. "I'm not sad. I'm smiling, aren't I?" "Just because you're smiling doesn't mean that you're happy," Mamoru said. He saw the puzzled look in Usagi's eyes and went on, "You may be laughing and smiling, but there's a sadness in your eyes. And the other night, when you went outside in the middle of the night, you said that you wanted to look at the moon and the stars because they comfort you when you're sad." "You remembered that I said that?" Usagi asked. ËHe really does care.' "Yeah, well..." Mamoru blushed a little. "So, why are you sad?" "I would love to tell you, but you wouldn't understand right now," Usagi said apologetically. "Oh, I see. Is it a girl thing?" Mamoru asked, a hint of sadness in his voice. "Not really, but, well... it's complicated," Usagi said. "All right," Mamoru said. ËI'm going to make her happy again,' Mamoru determined. ËI want to see that sparkle in her eyes again. She reminds me of someone I knew long ago... But I don't remember. Serena makes me feel happier, so I'm going to make her happy again.' Mamoru spoke aloud again, "Serena, I have something for you. Just a minute." Mamoru disappeared into another room and Usagi thought, ËWhat could he have for me?' Mamoru returned with a bag. "Here, this is for you," Mamoru said, handing the bag to Usagi. Usagi took the bag from his hands and opened it, peering inside. Her face lit up as she pulled out what was inside the bag. Mamoru smiled widely at her reaction to his gift. "Do you like it?" "I love it!" Usagi exclaimed. She cuddled the soft, pale pink stuffed rabbit to her body. "It's adorable! Why did you get me a present, though?" "I saw it yesterday, while I was driving around looking for the fishy crackers," Mamoru explained. "I saw it in a store window. I don't know why, but I thought of you. I'm glad that you like it." "I love it!" Usagi repeated. "Thank you so much! For the fishy crackers and the rabbit!" "Your welcome," Mamoru replied quietly. He saw that her eyes sparkled with true joy and for a few moments the sadness faded away from them. "Hi, guys, I'm back!" Ami said, interrupting Usagi and Mamoru's moment of closeness. "Where are you going?" she asked, noticing their winter clothes. "We're not going anywhere," Usagi replied. "We just got back from a walk." "Are you all right?" Ami asked concerned. "Yes, she's fine," Mamoru said. "I think she can go back to school on Tuesday. She's almost completely recovered." "That's great!" Ami exclaimed. "Yeah," Usagi agreed, but she couldn't help feeling sad that she would be leaving Mamoru's apartment soon. With a sinking feeling she remembered why she had been brought here in the first place. ËThe Four Generals,' Usagi remembered. ËWhy hasn't there been any trouble while I've been hurt? This can't be good, they must be planning something really bad.' Well, that's the end of chapter 4!!
