Hey there minna-san! This is the last crucial part of the story that you have to read! I’d just like to warn you that there is one part that you might think is sad, and it will definitely be a surprise, but you don’t need to cry, okay? There will be a happy ending no matter what you read, the happy ending is there at the end of the chapter. E-mail me! Talk to ya later! I still don’t own Sailor Moon, so please don’t sue me. I don’t have any money anyway. At the end of chapter 12: ‘If looks could kill...’ Usagi thought. As Beryl continued silently staring at her, Usagi knew what she had to do. New Snow by Chichiri Chapter 13- New Snow ‘Mamo-chan,’ Usagi thought out to him. ‘There is only one way to stop the Negaverse from destroying Terra now. We have to stay here, but we have to get the Senshi and the Generals to leave. We may have to die, but I will sacrifice my own life before the life of Terra and the lives of the other Senshi. We are one, so we must do this together.’ ‘Then we will stay,’ he replied. ‘If we have to die, we will die together. I think I know what you are planning to do. We have to seal the Negaverse with our power, and we have to do it from inside the Negaverse. Right?’ ‘Right.’ Usagi looked sadly at the other Senshi. Then, forcing a small smile, she said, “This is the final battle. You must do as I say, no matter what. I want you to go through the portal while Mamoru and I distract Beryl. She has already sent troops through and you must destroy them before they destroy Terra. I must fight Beryl. Now go.” “Very well, Princess,” Haruka said coolly. Usagi smiled bravely, then turned and headed toward Beryl with Mamoru at her side. Haruka led the Senshi and the Generals toward the black hole, lingering behind Usagi and Mamoru. “I am ready to fight, Beryl,” Usagi said, barely managing to keep her voice from shaking with fear. Haruka and the others hurried through the black hole. Rei was the last to go. Halfway through, she turned and looked back at Usagi. “Usagi-chan, you’re coming back, right?” Tears glittered in Usagi’s eyes when she turned to look at Rei. “I’m sorry. I can’t promise that. I don’t think I will be coming back. Tell the others I’m sorry.” “Usagi! No, I won’t leave you!” Rei started to come back out of the portal, but Usagi used a wave of her magic to push her through. Then she turned back to meet Beryl’s icy glare. “So you won’t be going back?” Beryl sneered. “That doesn’t mean I won’t defeat you!” Usagi said angrily. She called the Moon Sceptre and the Imperium Silver Crystal into her hands once again. As she did, she became Princess Serenity and Mamoru became Prince Endymion. “Imperium Moon Sceptre Destruction!” Mamoru let his energy flow into Usagi and together their energies created a beam of light that encased Beryl’s body. ~Flashbacks~ “I believe in you Princess Serenity,” Makoto said. “Sailor Moon is so cool!” Shingo exclaimed. “You’re my best friend,” Rei said. “I think you’re a great leader.” “You can do anything if you put your heart into it,” Ami said. “And you’ve got the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met.” “Usa-chan, you are a Princess at heart,” Mamoru said. “Before I knew you were a Princess there was a beautiful gracefulness that flowed strongly through your energy and it was far more graceful than any of the princesses my father forced me to meet with. They are snobby and uncaring about anything but themselves. And you, my dear Usa-chan, put the well-being of others before yourself.” “Serena is Sailor Moon? My Usagi? Somehow I’ve known all along...” Mamoru thought. “Still going after that Tuxedo Mask doll?” Motoki asked. “I don’t just love you because you’re my soulmate, although that’s an added plus,” Usagi laughed. “I love you because you’re smart, funny, incredibly handsome, and you can be so stupid sometimes, and you’re my best friend. And friends are the people who know all about you, and like you still.” ~End Flashbacks~ Beryl fell to the ground. Usagi and Mamoru lost no time in closing the portal. “Imperium Silver Crystal! Seal off the Negaverse so that no more evil will attack Terra and my friends can be safe!” She thought to herself, ‘I’m sorry Shingo, I can’t come back. I’m sorry Rei, everyone. Please remember us, never forget us.’ Usagi could feel energy draining out of her. She turned and faced Mamoru. Tears flowed down both of their faces. “Mamo-chan, aishiteru. Aishiteru!” “I know Usa-chan. Aishiteru.” He held her small body close to his. “I wish I could protect you, Usagi, my rabbit.” “You are,” Usagi whispered. “Just being here with me and holding me, I feel safe.” “You are the most beautiful, friendliest, craziest, and bravest girl I’ve ever met,” Mamoru said. “And that’s why I love you.” They were surrounded by the blinding light of the Imperium Silver Crystal and they whispered, “Goodbye...” ‘I wish for a new beginning,’ they thought. And then everything went black to them. “In the name of Princess Serenity, we’ll punish you!” Rei shouted. “Mars Firebird Strike!” The Senshi and the Generals were fighting Beryl’s troops in a flat snow-covered field lined with trees. Half the troops had already fallen, but the Senshi were tiring. “Jupiter Thunder Dragon!” “Venus Love Chain Encircle!” “We’ve got to do something,” Haruka said. “There has to be an easier way to get rid of them.” “We could use our forbidden powers,” Hotaru said. “But that really should be a last resort. I think we can defeat these troops without our forbidden powers.” “Mercury? Can you scan for weaknesses? I’ll cover you,” Setsuna suggested. “Certainly,” Ami agreed, activating her visor and computer. She began rapidly typing in commands, looking up through her visor every now and then. “They really don’t have much in the way of weaknesses. They’re mortal, of course, and they draw their powers from the Negaverse. If the Negaverse were destroyed, they would no longer be able to draw on their powers. But we could try a combination attack with all of us,” Ami suggested. “That seems like our best bet,” Setsuna agreed. “Mercury Star Power!” Ami shouted throwing her hand into the air. “Pluto Planet Power!” Setsuna threw her hand up next to Ami’s. “Uranus Planet Power!” The others joined in as they heard the cries of their allies. “Neptune Planet Power!” “Mars Star Power!” “Saturn Planet Power!” “Venus Star Power!” “Jupiter Star Power!” Makoto threw her hand up with the others’ hands where a glowing globe of energy had formed. The Generals guarded the Senshi while they prepared to throw their attack. “Lunar Universe Power!” they shouted together as they threw the globe of energy into the troops. “Please remember us, never forget us...” Usagi’s voice drifted across the silent field. Then a blinding light filled the field as the troops fell. “I wish for a new beginning...” Usagi and Mamoru’s voices echoed through the field. Then everything went black to the Senshi and the Generals. Mamoru became aware of a tickling sensation, like feathers falling on his face. He opened his eyes and stared up at the new snow falling from the cloudy gray skies. It seemed so peaceful, serene. Then he remembered what had happened in the Negaverse. He sat up and looked around. The Senshi and the Generals were fallen in a circle across the field and the bodies of Beryl’s troops were scattered around. Even as he watched, the bodies of Beryl’s troops began to disappear, leaving only bloodstained imprints to show they had been there, and even those began to disappear as the new snow blanketed the ground. Looking beside himself, he saw Usagi. She lay with a calm, serene expression on her face. The name Serenity suited her well, for even on the brink of death she had remained calmer than most people would have. ‘She looks like a fallen angel,’ Mamoru thought. He reached out and brushed a loose strand of golden hair off her face. Her face was cold. “Usagi,” Mamoru called. “Usagi, wake up. It’s okay, we’re safe now.” She remained still, unmoving, serene. “Usagi,” Mamoru called, now more urgently. “Usa-chan, please wake up. I’m here. You’re missing the new snow that you love so much. Usagi, wake up please.” She still didn’t move, she lay in a broken heap as the new snow began to cover her. Mamoru brushed the snow off her cold face, then lifted her into his arms. Her whole body was cold, and Mamoru was afraid to feel for a pulse. Gently, he held her wrist, but there was no pulse. Tears began to flow again down Mamoru’s face. “No!” he screamed to the empty and quiet field. The field remained silent, deathly silent. Queen Serenity looked sadly at her daughter’s broken and lifeless body. ‘I wish I could give my life for you again, I would do it in an instant, but my life is already gone,’ Queen Serenity thought. ‘But you will live again. Your love is strong enough to beat death.’ Mamoru lifted Usagi’s face and kissed her cold lips. ‘Please live, Usagi,’ Mamoru thought to her. ‘I need you. Aishiteru, aishiteru, Usa-chan.’ He closed his eyes and remembered Usagi’s constant happiness that had lifted his heart out of the shadows. His tears fell onto her cold face. As the tears hit her face, her skin became warmer and glowed with life again, slowly gaining color. “Please live, Usagi,” Mamoru whispered. Usagi’s eyes fluttered open and she whispered, “Mamo-chan?” Mamoru kept his eyes closed, afraid that he was dreaming. Usagi reached up and brushed away his tears. He opened his eyes slowly and looked down at Usagi. She smiled up at him and he held her closer. “I thought you were dead, you were dead.” “I couldn’t leave you Mamo-chan, no matter how hard I tried,” Usagi replied. “Your love brought me back. Please stop crying now, it’s okay.” She smiled up at Mamoru’s face. Mamoru laughed and said, “You could always turn my tears to laughter.” Usagi sat up and kissed Mamoru on the lips as the new snow continued to fall around them. Pulling away, Usagi said, “Another reason I like new snow is that it brings a new beginning. It falls so gently from the sky and quietly covers up the footprints of yesterday.” “Here’s to our new beginning then,” Mamoru said, leaning forward and kissing Usagi again. “Let’s go check on the others.” They walked across the field to where the Senshi and the Generals had fallen. They were just beginning to stir. Makoto was the first to get up. “Usagi-chan? Mamoru-san? You’re alive? But Rei-chan said...” Makoto said when she saw Usagi and Mamoru standing in the snow. “That darn Crystal just won’t let us die.” Usagi smiled. “You have no idea how grateful I am to that ‘darn Crystal’!” Makoto said, rushing over to Usagi and Mamoru and giving them a hug. “You’re like a sister to me Usagi-chan. So I guess that makes Mamoru-san my brother.” Suddenly Usagi, Mamoru, and Makoto were squished inside a giant group hug as everyone else got up. “Usagi-chan! I’m so glad that you’re all right! Everything’s okay now. Thank you so much for healing me,” Rei said with tears of joy in her eyes. “Rei-chan! I’m glad to be back too,” Usagi said. “The new snow brought us all a new beginning.” She smiled at everyone. “Now that you can see that Mamoru and I are indeed alive, would you kindly give us some breathing room, or we might not be.” Everyone laughed and then backed up a little. “It was an honor to fight with you Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion. You have succeeded in sealing off the Negaverse,” Setsuna said. “But now there is a promise I must keep and then I must return to my post at the Gates of Time.” Setsuna disappeared without showing any emotion on her face. “She’s so distant and cold,” Minako said. “She is the Guardian of Time,” Hotaru explained. “She has watched her friends die. She has watched us die and be resurrected. She cannot have emotions because she outlives us all and it would be too painful for her to get close to anyone as their life would end long before hers. Now, it is time for us to leave you as well. We will return if ever you need us again. We are at your service.” “Goodbye,” Hotaru, Haruka, and Michiru said before disappearing. “All right, let’s go home,” Usagi said. Then they teleported back to Tokyo. They appeared at Rei’s temple. Rei gasped when they arrived and said, “hey everyone! Today is Christmas Eve Day! Merry Christmas! Let’s go back to our families.” “Yeah,” everyone agreed. “We have so much to be thankful for this Christmas,” Usagi commented. “Merry Christmas everyone!” “Merry Christmas,” they replied as they walked down the steps together. “Ja ne!” They all went their separated ways down the quiet snowy streets. Usagi and Mamoru walked together toward Usagi’s house. Outside her house they kissed again. Then Usagi said, “Let’s dance!” “What?” Mamoru asked. “Let’s dance!” Usagi repeated. “Like we did at the Moon Kingdom. Remember when we danced in the snow?” “Yes,” Mamoru replied. “May I have this dance beautiful Princess Serenity?” he asked with a bow. “Yes you may Prince Endymion,” Usagi replied with a curtsy. She opened the Star Locket that still hung around her neck and a soft, graceful, serene melody filled the snowy air. And they began to dance in the snow, laughing happily. The clouds parted a little to let the Moon look down on the happy couple. People who saw the Moon that night were certain they saw the Moon smile. The snow fell like angel feathers around them. Hearing laughter, Mrs. Tsukino came out onto the porch and tears of joy sprung to her eyes. She silently watched her daughter and Mamoru dancing from the shadows of the porch. Mr. Tsukino, Shingo, Luna, and Artemis joined Mrs. Tsukino on the porch and they watched Usagi and Mamoru dancing in the silvery moon-lit snow. That’s it! Except that I didn’t want to end on chapter 13, so chapter 14 is really short. It’s about Sailor Pluto’s promise that she said she had to keep. So read it! Please! And tell me what you think about the end of my story please!!! (runnerup2001@netscape.net) I hope you have enjoyed reading this! Please e-mail me! (runnerup2001@netscape.net) Talk to you later!
